Drop Off Election Packets Through Tomorrow
Election packets for Neighborhood Representative and Alternate Neighborhood Representative candidates are available at Palmetto Commons and online at this website. Candidate packets can be dropped off at Palmetto Commons through tomorrow, Friday, September 28.

Extended Overnight On-Street Parking Pass Available For Long-Term Construction
Residents whose homes are undergoing long-term construction projects, such as stucco replacement, may now obtain an extended overnight on-street parking pass. This pass allows residents to park on the street during the approved construction work for up to 30 days. This pass must be used for long-term construction projects only. In order to obtain an extended overnight on-street parking pass, residents must adhere to the following procedure:
  • Receive a Notice to Proceed permit from Modifications indicating details of the construction project.
  • Present the Notice to Proceed permit to Security at the Main Gate.
  • Security will issue a 30-day on-street parking pass for a maximum of three vehicles per residence.

Purrysburg Children’s Pool Hours
Beginning October 1, children’s pool hours will be available at the Purrysburg indoor pool from 3–5 p.m. daily. These additional hours run until March 31. For a full list of pool hours, see the directory in back of SunSations.

November Ticket Sales
Tickets for all November events, as well as Barbra & Frank: The Show That Never Was, Mix N Match Singles Night and the last Dance Series featuring the Mandalla Band, will go on sale at 8 a.m. Monday, October 1 online and at Lifestyle Services.

Argent Lakes Reopening and Spa Services Unveiling
2:30–4 p.m. Tuesday, October 16
Come celebrate the reopening of Argent Lakes Golf Course and the unveiling of the latest Sun City spa services. Find out more information about new spa treatments and meet the staff. Then head over to Argent Lakes Golf Course to learn about the bunker renovation and strategic tree placement. Try out the new chipping green and participate in a chipping challenge, and take a tour of the course in your golf cart to see how beautiful the course looks.

• Log into your account by clicking on “Member Login” at the top, right-hand corner or Resident Central. Enter your member ID (activity card number) and password, and then click “Login.”
• From the Resident Central homepage, click on the “OPT-IN” button.
• Follow the instructions and fill out the form. If you would like to receive Sun City’s Golf, Clubs and Groups, or Neighborhood newsletters, check off those options at the bottom of the form.

Sports Park Pickleball Courts Resurfacing
Beginning October 8, the Pickleball courts at the New River Sports Park will be closed for resurfacing. The Pickleball courts at Argent Lakes will remain open.

Fishing Temporarily Prohibited in Lagoon L-36
Please refrain from fishing in lagoon L-36 at Sun City Boulevard and Hampton Place, located in Hampton Village. Fishing is prohibited in this lagoon while it is treated for an invasive weed. This will help control the issue and prevent it from spreading to other lagoons.

Upcoming Golf Demo Days
Taylor Made: 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesday, October 9 at Okatie Creek Golf Course
Call the Okatie Creek Golf Shop at (843) 705-4653 to book a fitting with a qualified Taylor Made tech. All residents are welcome to stop by and try out a driver or the new GAPR Clubs.

Argent Lakes Bunker Project Update
The back nine of Argent Lakes Golf Course remains closed for bunker renovation and new tree installation. All activities along the course and cart paths in this area are prohibited. The new chipping green will remain closed while the grass grows in.
 
Golfers are asked to not drive their golf carts on the newly sodded areas near the bunkers. If your ball comes to rest on sod, please proceed as ground under repair and take a free drop.

Tee Times at Argent Lakes
Because Argent Lakes Golf Course has only nine holes open for play during bunker renovation, golfers may only make a 9-hole tee time reservation through the Chelsea Reservation system or by calling the golf shop at (843) 645-0507. Golfers are welcome to play 18 holes, but it will be on a “space availability basis.” To clarify, when golfers complete nine holes, they can return to the golf shop to see if there is an open tee time for them to play an additional nine holes. Golfers are asked not to book two advance tee times in a day.

Money Talks Club Presents Medicare Changes in 2019
All residents are invited to the Money Talks Club’s next meeting at 9 a.m. October 15 at Magnolia Hall. The topic of this month’s meeting is Medicare 2019 – Overview and Changes, presented by Done Avedon in two segments. The first segment will be an Overview of Medicare Parts A,B, C, D and MediGap supplements. The second segment covers changes in Part D, prescription drugs and all important 2019 changes. Don will provide Part D updates to include deductible, initial coverage limits, out-of-pocket threshold increases and co-pay increases.

Woodworkers & Modelmakers Guild Open House
The Woodworkers & Modelmakers Guild is holding an open house at the woodshop at 841 Red Dam Road 10 a.m.–2 p.m. October 20. This is a great opportunity for residents and guests to visit the woodshop and see the many crafts and services the Guild sponsors. Special Interest Groups like the Woodturners, Woodcarvers and Model Railroaders will display their best and have live demonstrations. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The Avant Gardeners Club hosts its 17th annual Sun City Garden Tour 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Monday, October 22. Tickets are $6 for club members and $9 for non-members.
