Communication

Be Ready For Hurricane Season
Fall officially begins this weekend, but here in the Lowcountry, we’re at the peak of hurricane season. Make sure you’re ready if severe weather threatens to strike our area. Prepare your disaster supply kit and have a family evacuation plan in place.

To get the most up-to-date information from local government officials during a severe weather event, make sure you’re signed up with Nixle, a free text message alert system. Beaufort County and Jasper County law enforcement agencies use this service to communicate with the public before, during and after a hurricane. To sign up for these notifications, text your zip code to 888777.

Residents are also encouraged to add the Sun City hurricane hotline number (1-800-963-5023) to their cell phone. If a hurricane forces an evacuation of the area, the Association will post re-entry information to the hotline. The number will be activated only during an evacuation.

For more information, tune into Sun City TV to watch a taping of the Association’s annual Hurricane Preparedness Seminar. The show airs at 4:30 p.m. daily on Hargray channel 238, Spectrum channel 1301 or online at this website.

Golfers are asked to not drive their golf carts on the newly sodded areas near the bunkers. If your ball comes to rest on sod, please proceed as ground under repair and take a free drop.
