The next Board of Directors Quarterly meeting is 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 in Pinckney Hall. All residents are invited to attend.

Golf Course Maintenance Closures
  • Hidden Cypress Golf Course is closed through June 8 for aerification.
  • Argent Lakes Golf Course and golf shop will be closed June 11-12 for aerification. The back nine holes only will reopen June 13.
  • The Argent Lakes Golf Course driving range will be closed June 11-12 and will reopen June 13 with temporary parking due to cart parking area improvements.
  • The Argent Lakes Golf Course practice putting green will be closed beginning June 11 for up to five weeks while the new chipping green is constructed.

Town Square Landscaping Work Scheduled
Landscaping crews will be removing some old landscaping and adding newer plantings and grass Monday, June 11-Friday, June 22 around Town Square. The bulk of the work will be done between Magnolia Hall and Pinckney Hall. Please use caution when in this area.

Voting Locations in Sun City
Polling locations will be open for voting in the South Carolina Primaries 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 at Pinckney Hall Ballroom, Lakehouse Ballroom, Magnolia Hall and Hidden Cypress Ballroom. All other activities scheduled in these rooms are canceled during voting hours. The rehearsal rooms in Magnolia Hall will be open for use. The Covenants Committee meeting at 8:30 a.m. will be relocated to Riverbend, Marshland Room due to voting.

Okatie Creek Restaurant Maintenance Closure
The Clubhouse at Okatie Creek will be closed June 25-28 for HVAC replacement. This closure will not affect the golf shop or restrooms.

Oktoberfest Tickets On Sale Now
Tickets for the inaugural outdoor Sun City Hilton Head Oktoberfest are on sale now. This event will be 4–7:30 p.m. October 19 at Town Square. Spend the afternoon with your neighbors enjoying German delicacies, beer tasting, shopping and music by the Rhinelanders. Plus, enjoy two special shows by the world-famous Olate Dogs, winners of the 2016 America’s Got Talent. Tickets are $18. With Atlantic Hurricane Season underway, Sun City TV will air two programs to help you prepare for possible inclement weather in the Lowcountry. Catch rebroadcasts of the Annual Hurricane Preparedness Seminar at 4:30 p.m. daily and the Stormwater Basics Presentation by Thomas & Hutton Engineering at 8 p.m. daily.

Bill Klug had a hole-in-one May 23 at Okatie Creek Golf Course on hole 3 for 124 yards. He used a 6 iron. This event was witnessed by Jack McTague, Mark Shalala and Bernie Fitzgerald.

The Sun City Veterans Association will observe Flag Day with guest speaker Hardeeville Police Chief Sam Woodward. The SCVA Color Guard will present the colors. All Sun City residents are welcome to attend.
