Purrysburg Fitness Center Maintenance
Purrysburg Fitness Center will be closed Monday, June 25 to repair the HVAC. ICT is canceled for June 25. The Purrysburg pool and locker rooms will be open, and group exercise classes and water classes will meet as scheduled. The projected reopen date is Tuesday, June 26.

Okatie Creek Restaurant Maintenance Closure
The Clubhouse at Okatie Creek will be closed June 25-28 for HVAC replacement. This closure will not affect the golf shop or restrooms.

Fourth of July Holiday Hours and Guest Info
Community Association offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Fitness centers will be open 8 a.m.–2 p.m. The Logo Building will operate with normal hours. Guests will be free at fitness centers with valid guest ID cards July 1–4 during staffed hours. The Lakehouse Fitness Center will be self-use for residents only until 10 p.m.

Don’t Miss the Fourth of July Celebration
4 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 at Town Square
Sun City is the place to be to enjoy all your favorite July 4 festivities! Bring your entire family for karaoke, photo booth fun, some friendly competition, food and music. Outdoor sports and the Purrysburg outdoor pool will be open 8 a.m.–10 p.m., with pool monitors available from 4–8 p.m. Food and a cash bar will be open at 4 p.m. and Palmetto Soul will get the party started with music at 6 p.m. It all ends with a fireworks display at dusk.
 
July 4 Parking Reminders
• No parking on Sun City Boulevard or any grass. Golf carts will be allowed to park on both sides of Sun City Lane perpendicular to the road (front end facing out). Do not park on the lawn.
• No parking on golf course property, including golf cart paths.
• A 425-yard perimeter is required around the fireworks display. No chairs will be allowed on the lawns of the croquet courts or lawns adjacent to the lagoon.
• Fire lanes must be kept open at all times. Please do not park between red safety cones. Observe all no parking signs. Securitas will issue tickets on all violations.
• Sun City Boulevard will be closed between Del Webb Blvd and Sun City Lane just before, during and after the fireworks display. Expect delays if traveling in that area of the community.
• Motorists and pedestrians are not permitted to watch the fireworks display from Millennium Bridge.

Crazy, Fun Sunday Ice Cream Party
3–5 p.m. Sunday, July 1 at the Pavilion
Bring the grandchildren out for a fun ice cream party at the Pavilion, complete with balloon art and face painting. Tickets are $10 per child.

Palmetto Commons Art Gallery Coming Soon
A brand-new art gallery behind Resident Services in Palmetto Commons will feature original photographs and artwork by Sun City residents. The Community Services Department is partnering with the All About Art Club and Photography Club to debut the gallery, which will rotate every quarter and will feature a different theme every six months. The inaugural theme will be “The Lowcountry.” The All About Art Club will display art beginning July 1, followed by the Photography Club in October. The art will be available for purchase.
 
Artists interested in displaying their work may contact the All About Art Club or Photography Club for details about how to get involved. Contact information for both clubs is available in the Chartered Club News section of SunSations. Please stop by Resident Services to see this exciting exhibit!

Town Square Landscaping Work Scheduled
Landscaping crews are removing some old landscaping and adding newer plantings and grass through June 22 around Town Square. The bulk of the work will be done between Magnolia Hall and Pinckney Hall. Please use caution when in this area.

  • Hidden Cypress Golf Course closes at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 25 for half-day maintenance.
  • The Argent Lakes Golf Course practice putting green is closed while the new chipping green is being constructed.

Participants in the One Person Scramble, the Golf Shop Fun Event for June, enjoyed great scores and warm temperatures for the event June 19 at Hidden Cypress Golf Course. The Golf staff would like to thank you for your participation and interest in these unique tournaments and formats.

Hole-In-One Reports
Carol Ellis had a hole-in-one June 17 at Hidden Cypress Golf Course on hole 12 for 85 yards. She used a
9 iron. This event was witnessed by Terry Ellis, David Hine and Sandy Drahushuk.
 
Rodney Stearns had a hole-in-one June 19 at Argent Lakes Golf Course on 11 for 126 yards. He used a 7 iron. This event was witnessed by Gary Wilcox and Gene Dix.
 
Randy Hoffmeister had a hole-in-one June 20 at Okatie Creek Golf Course on hole 17 for 131 yards. He used a 9 iron. This event was witnessed by Paul Vanstone.
