The Clubhouse at Okatie Creek will be closed June 25-28 for HVAC replacement. This closure will not affect the golf shop or restrooms.

Please be mindful of crews installing new equipment around the community in preparation for new gate software. Work is expected to begin Monday, June 18.

Palmetto Commons Art Gallery Coming Soon
A brand-new art gallery behind Resident Services in Palmetto Commons will feature original photographs and artwork by Sun City residents. The Community Services Department is partnering with the All About Art Club and Photography Club to debut the gallery, which will rotate every quarter and will feature a different theme every six months. The inaugural theme will be “The Lowcountry.” The All About Art Club will display art beginning July 1, followed by the Photography Club in October. The art will be available for purchase.
 
Artists interested in displaying their work may contact the All About Art Club or Photography Club for details about how to get involved. Contact information for both clubs is available in the Chartered Club News section of SunSations. Please stop by Resident Services to see this exciting exhibit!

Did you see the fresh, new look of the Clubs and Groups eNewsletter that debuted to your inbox yesterday? It is all part of a redesign of all the Community Association’s electronic newsletters. The brand-new Health and Wellness eNewsletter debuted earlier this month, and watch for a makeover of eNews Weekly coming later this summer. Signing up for any of our newsletters is easy. Log in to Resident Central, then click the Opt-In link at the top of the page and fill out the subscription form.

If you are a current subscriber and want to receive the Clubs & Groups eNewsletter, scroll to the bottom of any eNews Weekly and click “Update Profile.” The check the Clubs & Groups eNewletter box.

Watch SCTV in Hargray HD
Sun City’s Hargray Communications customers can now enjoy SCTV on channel 238 in high definition, thanks to a complimentary upgrade from the service provider. The SCTV Service Organization has been taping shows in high definition for several years, but only since this upgrade in June has the community been able to rebroadcast the shows using the same technology.

Midnight at the Movies Now Showing on SCTV
Travel back to the classic age of cinema as Sun City TV brings Midnight at the Movies right to your living room. From midnight until 6:30 a.m., residents can watch black-and-white classic American films made popular during the 1930s-1960s. This month, watch Frontier Horizon starring John Wayne and His Girl Friday starring Cary Grant. Watch Sun City TV on Hargray channel 238 (now in high definition), Spectrum channel 1301, or streaming on this website.

Town Square Landscaping Work Scheduled
Landscaping crews are removing some old landscaping and adding newer plantings and grass through June 22 around Town Square. The bulk of the work will be done between Magnolia Hall and Pinckney Hall. Please use caution when in this area.

  • Okatie Creek Golf Course closes at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 18 for half-day maintenance.
  • The Argent Lakes Golf Course practice putting green is closed while the new chipping green is being constructed.

Hole-In-One Reports
Lowell McGauhey had a hole-in-one June 5 at Okatie Creek Golf Course on hole 12 for 126 yards. He used an 8 iron. This event was witnessed by Richard Van Veen, Roger Worden and Mick McGauhey.
 
Phil Boyle had a hole-in-one June 7 at Okatie Creak Golf Course on hole 8 for 106 yards. He used a pitching wedge. This event was witnessed by Jerry Whalen, Roger Worden, Tony Smithson. This is Phil’s second hole-in-one in 2018.
 
Gary T. Jenket had a hole-in-one June 8 at Argent Lakes Golf Course on hole 15 for 132 yards. He used a 7 iron. This event was witnessed by Bill Horan, Stan Kaiko and Wes Beavers.
