Common Area Maintenance

Alligators are becoming more active as they are hungry and looking to mate this time of year. They will be moving from pond to pond, usually in the evenings, so be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking your pet. This type of activity usually lasts until the end of April when they become more settled.

Alligators in a pond or lagoon are a sign of a healthy ecosystem and do not represent a problem with the fish. An alligator in Sun City’s lagoons or on a bank of a lagoon is not an aggressive alligator. Alligators usually become aggressive after they are fed by humans. Feeding alligators is illegal and dangerous. You could face up to a $2,500 fine if you are caught feeding an alligator.

A fed alligator is a dead alligator. If an alligator sees humans as a food source, it has a reason to approach them and could become aggressive, meaning it will have to be removed from the community and destroyed. Children and pets should not go near the water’s edge of lagoons.

If you think you have an aggressive alligator on your property, contact Common Area Maintenance at (843) 705-4061 during business hours or Security at (843) 705-4083 after hours. They will review the situation and determine the best course of action.

Golf

Making a Request in the Chelsea Tee Time System
Making a tee time request for your next Sun City Hilton Head golf outing is easy thanks to a quick online reservation system. To access this system, simply visit the Golf page on this website and click “Make a Reservation,” or visit http://hiltheadgf.chelseareservations.com. Then, log in with your member ID and password. Here are some tips to make your tee time reservation experience as simple and quick as possible.

  • Tee time requests may be made up to 10 days in advance.
  • It doesn’t matter if you are the first request in the system or the last request made prior to the tee time placement process.
  • Check the calendar of events on the Golf page on this website before setting your tee time to help you choose your course. If one course is scheduled for a tournament or maintenance, make your request for another course.
  • Provide ample time between the earliest and latest time you will accept to avoid the potential of being placed on the standby list. If your range of time is too small, you are likely to be added to the standby list. It is recommended to choose 5 p.m. as your latest tee time.
  • The more linked groups, the larger the window of time needed for tee time placement. This may result in a later tee time. Choosing the option of “Do Not Break the Link” may also cause your group to be placed at a later tee time.
  • Choosing only one or two course options instead of all three courses will limit the number of tee time openings.
  • Choose the option “Course Is More Important” if you have course priority.
  • Choose the option “Time Is More Important” if you prefer to play as close to your requested time as possible, regardless of course selection.

You may adjust or cancel your tee time after you receive a tee time email confirmation.
