Troon Golf, the Golf Advisory Committee, Avant Gardeners, Bird Club, Fishing and Hunting Club, Okatie Farmers and Photography Club have teamed up to host golf course nature tours for the community. Look Out For Alligators
With the warmer weather, alligators have become more active. Be on the lookout for alligators moving from pond to pond and be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking your pet. Please remember that feeding alligators is illegal and dangerous, as it can lead to aggressive behavior. If you think you have an aggressive alligator on your property, call Common Area Maintenance at (843) 705-4061 during business hours or Security at (843) 705-4083 after hours.

Chelsea Reservations Password Change Requirement
Chelsea Reservations is making a security update on March 12 for the entire system that requires all golfers to update their password to protect their private information. Please follow the instructions below to change your password:

  1. Log on and enter your password as you currently do.
  2. Then go into “My Profile.”
  3. Update your password with these new requirements:
    1. Must be six to 12 characters long.
    2. Have at least one uppercase letter.
    3. Have at least one number.
  4.  Hit “Save.”

Sign Up For St. Patrick's Day Four-Person Scramble
1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at Hidden Cypress Golf Course
Wear green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with golf and an Irish dinner catered by award-winning Downtown Catering of Bluffton. The tournament begins at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start and dinner to follow. Cost of $30 per person includes dinner and the tournament fee. The dinner menu includes traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage, redskin boiled potatoes, garden salad, dinner rolls and Irish brownies.

Test Drive a GolfBoard
Please stop by Argent Lakes Golf Course and test drive a GolfBoard. The Golf Department is asking for feedback from golfers on their experience playing golf while using the board. They will only be available for demo for a couple of weeks, so come and try one out and “surf the earth!” Click here to learn more about GolfBoards. Golfers must watch an instructional video and sign a waiver before test driving a GolfBoard.

Golf Course Nature Tours Added For April
The March nature tours of Hidden Cypress Golf Course are full, but new April dates have been added! See the tour schedule below.
 
Discover Sun City’s natural beauty at one of its most well-kept amenities, the golf course! Troon Golf, the Golf Advisory Committee, Avant Gardeners, Bird Club, Fishing and Hunting Club, Okatie Farmers and Photography Club have teamed up to host golf course nature tours for the community. All tours will last no longer than two hours and participants will be transported by golf cart; walking will be minimal. Use of personal carts is highly encouraged. Closed-toe shoes are required; no pets are permitted on the tour. Grandchildren accompanied by an adult are welcome. Maximum of 10 participants per tour; register in the Lifestyles Activities Book at Lifestyle Services. Detailed informational fliers are located outside the pro shops.

Dan Morse had a hole-in-one February 27 at Okatie Creek golf Course on hole 17 for 135 yards. He used a 9 iron. This event was witnessed by Bob Johnson, Ray Raspoli and Al Cooper.
 
Rhonda Laakso had a hole-in-one March 3 at Okatie Creek Golf Course on hole 3 for 87 yards. She used a 7 hybrid. This event was witnessed by Jeanne Finken, Tom Finken and John Laakso.
 
Randy Duncan had a hole-in-one March 7 at Okatie Creek Golf Course on hole 8 for 112 yards. He used a wedge. This event was witnessed by Dave Keiser, Dick Hagerty and Dennis Robertson.

Learn simple self-treatments you can do at home to remain active, healthy and pain-free for life. Join Sun City resident and MELT Instructor Jan Berson to learn how to eliminate stuck stress, chronic aches, pains, and unwanted signs of aging using specialized techniques, a soft body roller and four different balls. All classes meet in Pinckney Hall, Chechessee River Room. Participants must be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance. Bring a yoga mat; all MELT props provided. Journey of Self-Discovery Through the Enneagram Workshop

Room Reservation Specialist Judy Conningham is available to meet with residents, clubs and groups to discuss their reservation requirements by scheduling appointments during the hours of 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Please email Judy at Judy.Conningham@schhca.com to schedule an appointment. Include your name, topic, affiliation and desired time.
  • All room requests must be submitted on the appropriate Room Request Form and brought to the Lifestyle Services office prior to scheduling an appointment.
  • Appointments are 15-30 minutes long and should only be scheduled for meetings or events occurring within the next six weeks.

Dress in green and head to Savannah to experience the second largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the country! A bus will drop you off at City Market, where you can watch the parade at 10:15 a.m. Then, you’re free to explore the historic district, grab lunch and shop on famous River Street. Coed League Spring Season Opening Day
The Coed League spring season begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 10. Opening ceremonies include team introductions and the National Anthem. The first of five games begins at 8:30 a.m. The Coed opening day will feature hot dog day for the first time in Coed League history. All are welcome.

Sun City Lagoon Fishing Seminar
Learn all about fishing in Sun City’s lagoons at a free seminar hosted by the Fishing & Hunting Club at 9 a.m. Friday, March 16 at Lake Somerset Dock. Experienced Sun City anglers will lead a discussion about what tackle, bait and lures to use for difference game fish. Learn which lagoons are best for fishing.

Sign up for Fifth Annual Neighborhood Golf Challenge
Registration is open for the fifth annual Neighborhood Golf Challenge March 31 at Hidden Cypress Golf Course where neighborhoods will go head-to-head for the title of Best Neighborhood. There will be a double shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with a $15 entry fee (plus regular golf fees). Registration deadline is March 23.
