Presidents Day Hours

Palmetto Commons will be closed Monday, February 19 in observance of Presidents Day. Limited staff will be available at the Lifestyle Services desk in Pinckney Hall. The fitness centers, golf courses and golf pro shops will be open with normal business hours.

New Stop Signs Installed
Stop signs were installed Thursday, February 15 at the intersection of Landing Lane and Bayberry Drive to create a three-way stop. The new traffic pattern becomes active at 2 p.m. Friday, February 16. Until this time, the stop signs will remain covered. Please be alert and use caution when approaching the intersection. Signs will be posted ahead of the intersection to warn drivers of the new stop signs.

Spa Refurbishment Updates
The repairs and refurbishment at Hidden Cypress spa continue and are entering the final stages.
 
Riverbend spa is tentatively scheduled to be closed for refurbishment beginning Monday, February 26. Stay tuned to eNews Weekly for more information.

SCTV Spectrum Channel To Change
Effective Tuesday, March 6, the Spectrum channel for SCTV will move to channel 1301. Spectrum, like other cable providers, will no longer broadcast in analog and is reassigning its analog channels, such as channel 5 for SCTV, to digital ones. Sunspots on channel 66 will move to channel 1302. Hargray customers can continue to watch SCTV on channel 238. SCTV is also available to watch online at this website by logging in and clicking the SCTV link on Resident Central.

Sun City TV Debuts New Shows and Lineup
Sun City residents aren’t the only ones preparing for spring cleaning projects. Sun City TV is revamping its lineup of television shows and programs to bring the community more entertainment in 2018! With the debut of new shows The Breeze, Healthy Eating with Leslie and In Our Neighborhoods, residents will have more exciting programs and 24 hours of content. The new lineup begins Monday, February 26. Watch SCTV on Hargray channel 238, Spectrum channel 5 (Channel 1301 beginning March 6) or streaming live at this website. Stay tuned to the March issue of SunSations for more information.

Handicap Fees Due This Month
Okatie Creek Golf Shop will accept 2018 GHIN handicap fees through Wednesday, February 28. The $22 fee can be paid by club charge, credit card or cash. If you are out of town, please call the golf shop at (843) 705-4653 to pay by club charge. Those who have not paid by March 1 will be deactivated.

South Carolina Ballet Presents A Midsummer Night's Dream

7 p.m. Tuesday, February 27 at Magnolia Hall
Shakespeare’s playful, romantic comedy comes to life on stage in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Full of memorable characters, twists of fate and one potent love potion, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is always a crowd pleaser. Tickets are $25.

Joe Yaworski had a hole-in-one February 12 at Hidden Cypress Golf Course on hole 2 for 138 yards. He used a 7 iron. This event was witnessed by Steve Parker, Dan Resetarits and Carl Greenway.

Get into shape for spring! Join personal trainer John Hock in this outdoor boot camp training with conditioning exercises, fitness drills, fitness games and plenty of team spirit. Boot camp graduates not only lose weight, get stronger and increase overall physical health, they develop mentally and become more disciplined. Join Sun City resident and MELT Instructor Jan Berson to learn how to eliminate stuck stress, chronic aches, pains, and unwanted signs of aging using specialized techniques, a soft body roller and four different balls.
