Prepare for Liftoff – New Technology to Launch in 2019
New technology will launch in Sun City Hilton Head in 2019! Beginning Friday, December 7, the Community Association will send regular email updates about the tech conversion to keep you informed of what’s changing and how it impacts your lifestyle. All eNews Weekly subscribers will receive these emails, which will include information about what you need to do to prepare for this tech launch. Encourage your neighbors to opt-in to eNews Weekly so they don’t miss these important tech notices. Tell your friends it’s this easy to opt-in:
  • Log into your account from this website by clicking “Member Login” and enter your Member ID (activity card number) and password.
  • From the Resident Central homepage, click “OPT-IN.”
  • Follow the instructions and fill out the form. Check off the options for the newsletters you would like to receive.

2019 Schedule of Fees Available Online Friday
The 2019 Schedule of Fees will be available to read online at this website beginning Friday, December 7. Log into Resident Central by clicking “Member Login” and enter your Member ID (activity card number) and password. A physical copy of the Schedule of Fees will be delivered to your lower box.

GBAC Hosts Joel Taylor of Coastal Carolina Hospital
The Government and Business Affairs Committee will host Joel Taylor, Coastal Carolina Hospital Marketing Administrator, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 7 at the Lakehouse, Ballroom. He will discuss the hospital’s new emergency room facility under construction and health trends for the Lowcountry that may impact Sun City residents.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree in Palmetto Commons
All tags from The Salvation Army Angel Tree in Palmetto Commons have been taken. Residents who took a tag may drop off their gifts in Palmetto Commons by December 14. They are not to be wrapped, but should be placed in a labeled gift bag or plastic bag. Those who were unable to select a tag may contact The Salvation Army to request other Angel Tree locations.

Annual Meeting on SCTV
The Annual Meeting of the Membership will air in its entirety through the month of December at 8 p.m. daily on SCTV on Hargray channel 238, Spectrum channel 1301 or streaming on this website.

Daily Door Prizes at Palmetto Commons
Eight lucky residents who visit Palmetto Commons through December 31 will snag free Sun City swag! Residents who visit Palmetto Commons on business with the Community Association will sign in as normal at the front desk. Each evening prior to the day of business, staff will choose eight numbers at random from the sign-in sheet. The winners will be notified immediately when they sign in and will get to draw for their prize they will receive.

Holiday Office Closures
Community Association offices will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas. Offices will close at noon, Monday, December 31 and will remain closed Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in observance of New Year’s Day.

New Year’s Health and Nourishment Kickoff
Monday, January 7, 2019 at Magnolia Hall
Start your new year off right with a complimentary series featuring Len Kravitz, PhD, CSCS, an exercise science program coordinator and researcher at the University of New Mexico. There will be free food and an opportunity to “Ask the Doctor Your Questions.”

Sign Up for Choose to Lose (Formerly Mission: Slimpossible)
9–10 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays January 9–February 15
Choose to Lose debuts a new program style led by Holly Mlodzinski, a registered dietician with Hilton Head Hospital. Program topics include why diets don’t deliver, embracing health at every size, foods that support healthy aging and more. Learn functional moves to promote independence and strength on Fitness Fridays and enjoy group health discussions every Wednesday throughout the program. Prizes awarded! Participants enjoy a free pass for any group exercise class during the program. Cost is $125. Register at any fitness center before January 4, 2019.

Project Updates from Facilities Services and Common Area Maintenance
  • The Woodshop entry to the Dog Park will be closed for maintenance December 6–19. The softball field side entry to the Dog Park will be closed December 20–January 4.
  • Purrysburg Fitness Center and aerobics room are closed for renovations. The locker rooms and pools remain open. Click here for updated class schedules at Hidden Cypress and Purrysburg Fitness Centers. Click here for updated class schedules at the Lakehouse Fitness Center. 
  • Tennis court 1 at Town Square is closed for construction on new path areas and seating.

Ticket Sales for New Evolution Big Band Benefit Concert
The Sun City Lions Club will present its annual benefit event with a performance by the New Evolution Big Band at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1 at Magnolia Hall. Tickets are $25. Contact Judy Cullen at

SCCT Presents Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap
A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer.
The Mousetrap is a tale of intrigue written by the world-famous Agatha Christie. Performances are 7 p.m. January 24, 25, 26 and 2:30 p.m. January 27 at Magnolia Hall. Tickets are $24.
