Abridged November SunSations Delivery
There will not be a full November issue of SunSations as the production schedule was impacted by Hurricane Matthew. Instead, the department will produce a 32-page abridged version of the magazine that will include an Election Supplement, the Sun City Holiday Gift Guide, Happenings calendar, Seminars calendar and fitness class schedule. Delivery for the abridged SunSations is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1. Can’t wait to read it? The abridged magazine will be available online at this website on Friday, October 28. Just log in and click the SunSations logo at the top of Resident Central.  
   
Chartered Club Fair Rescheduled 
Noon-4 p.m. Saturday, October 29 in Pinckney Hall and the Pavilion
Meet new people as you explore new interests at the 18th annual Chartered Club Fair. The fair, originally scheduled for October 8, has been rescheduled as a result of Hurricane Matthew. More than 90 Chartered Clubs and Registered community Groups will be present. Food will be available for purchase.

Seacoast Security Shredding 
8–10 a.m. Friday, October 28 in the Pinckney Hall Parking Lot
Seacoast will shred and properly dispose of all your personal documents. Two trucks will be on site and volunteers from Safety and Service will be directing traffic. Please follow the cones and stay in your vehicle until it is your turn to have your documents shredded. Please be sure to have boxes and bags open and ready to dispose your documents. 

 
Chartered Club Treasurer's Workshop
9–11 a.m. Thursday, November 3 and Monday, November 7 at Pinckney Hall
In this workshop, Mike Thomas will introduce and explain the revised CC90 form. Anna Maria Tabernick from the Finance Committee will also be present to answer questions. Attendance at one workshop is mandatory for all club treasurers (even if you have served as a treasurer before). Tickets for all December events (except Movie Nights, Matinee Movies and Feature Film Sundays) and the Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. concert will go on sale at 8 a.m. Tuesday, November 1 online at this website. Don’t have a computer or printer at home? Stop by the Lifestyle Services desk and staff will handle the purchasing for you.
 
To buy tickets online:
  • Log in to this website with your member ID and password.
  • Click the “eTickets” button on Resident Central.
  • Select the show you want to attend.
  • Select your seats (if applicable)
  • Enter your billing information; be sure to have your credit or debit card information available.
  • Your tickets will be emailed to you to print at your convenience before the show.
  • Avoid long will-call lines by coming to Lifestyle Services to have your tickets printed anytime before the event.
 
Please be aware that online ticket sales will close one hour before each event. Walk-ins at the door will be permitted, depending on available space. Tickets purchased at the door will be cash only.
 
Tickets for Movie Nights, Matinee Movies and Feature Film Sundays will be cash only and available only at the door beginning one hour prior to show time. Check the Happenings calendar for event descriptions, and ticket prices and availability.

All Sun City residents who wish to be included in the next edition of the Resident Directory are encouraged to review and update your contact and personal information online by logging into this website by November 15. Follow the directions below to update your Resident Directory information online:
  • Log in to Resident Central with your Member ID and password.
  • Click “Tools.”
  • Click “Personal Profile.”
  • Under “Contact Info,” review your contact information and update as needed.
  • When finished updating contact information, click “Directory Listing.”
  • Click “Add Listing.”
  • Follow the five-step prompt to add contact and personal information for inclusion in the Resident Directory.
  • When complete, click “Finish.”
Your contact information will not be included in the Resident Directory unless you fill out information listed under “Contact Info” first, and then “Directory Listing.” For one-on-one help, Webhelp is available from 9 a.m.–noon every Friday in the Pinckney Hall Lobby.

Car Decal Expiration Reminder
Don’t forget to check to see if your car decal expires at the end of October. Don’t get stuck at the gate with an out-of-date barcode and decal! Renew your car registration at Resident Services in Palmetto Commons before the end of the month. Be sure to bring proof of insurance, your driver’s license and activity card. Barcode and decal renewals are done between 8:30 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday. Barcode renewals cannot be done in inclement weather.

Roof Repair Emergencies

9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 25 in Pinckney Hall

Beaufort County Treasurer’s Office representatives will accept property tax payments from residents who live in Beaufort County. Residents will be able to pay current and delinquent taxes on all property types, make redemption payments, make installment payments, apply for an installment program and submit address changes. Tax adjustments cannot be performed on-site.

To assist residents with roof repair emergencies resulting from the hurricane, roofing vendors will be allowed access to the community from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Sundays until the end of October.

The Sun City Board of Directors and the Government and Business Affairs Committee held its annual Lowcountry Recognition event October 19 to honor organizations and individuals who make a difference in the greater community. This year’s honorees were Hilton Head Regional Habitat for Humanity, Jasper County Neighbors United, Palmetto Electric Cooperative and former Hardeeville mayor Bronco Bostick. Modifications Committee Meeting Schedule

The Modifications Committee will not meet on the third Tuesday through the rest of the year. Modification applications that require committee approval must be submitted by noon the Friday prior to the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Executive Office

Find Your Community Association Offices
Lifestyle Services (event planning and room reservations) is located in Pinckney Hall. Most other Community Association offices, including Resident Services and Community Standards, are located in Palmetto Commons. Facilities and Common Area Maintenance offices are located in the Okatie Maintenance Yard on Hwy. 170.
 

Common Area Maintenance

Residents are responsible for the removal of debris and fallen trees from their own property, even if it originated from a neighbor's yard. Please do not to place storm debris on the golf courses, curb, roads or common areas. Residents can dispose of their debris at the Mulching Center on Red Dam Road.

Additionally, please do not bring logs or plywood to the Woodworkers' Shop; the club is not accepting wood resulting from storm clean up. The woodworkers cannot use the wood and as a result, disposal of unsolicited wood is left to the club members.

Get Golf Ready in Five Days
Get Golf Ready in Five Days returns to Sun City this fall with dates in October and November. If you have always wanted to play golf or be reunited to the game in a beginner-friendly environment, this is the program for you. Grab your golf buddy or come by yourself and get golf ready! The program consists of five 90-minute classes over a six-day period. Cost is $99. Each class is limited to eight students. Golf clubs will be provided for those who need them. Proper golf attire is required. Therapeutic Hatha Yoga Class Schedule Change
There will be no Therapeutic Hatha Yoga class at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30. The next class will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 28 at Hidden Cypress. This cost-free, 90-minute class is taught by Sun City resident Martha Pike, a Master Level Hatha Yoga instructor. The class consists of a short warm-up to loosen up joints and muscles, breath control techniques, acupressure and about 50 minutes of a variety of flowing asanas ending with meditation. Please bring your own mat. Space is limited.

Town Square Upbeats and the U.S. Marine Corps invite residents to the annual Toys For Tots Dance from 6–10 p.m. Saturday, December 3 in Pinckney Hall. The Sun City Veterans Association will be collecting old and worn out U.S. flags from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 3 in the Pinckney Hall lobby. They will also be selling new flags, flag poles and pole brackets.

The Sun City Car Club is hosting its 15th annual car show from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, November 12. Awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Participant parking is on a first-come first-served basis and the judging will be by participants and the public. Food will be available for purchase. The Okatie Creek Duplicate Bridge Club is offering lessons for anyone who has not played bridge and would like to learn, or those who would like to brush up on their skills after years of not playing. Lessons involve hands-on learning through play of the hands. Come alone or with a partner. Lessons are $5 per session and will be held from 1–3 p.m. Saturdays through November 19 in the Card Room at the Yemassee Crafts Center.
